Sec
A compiled, statically typed programming language designed for high-performance native programs.
Roadmap
Where we are and where we're going.
First draft
The initial language design and compiler. We're finishing the spec, writing tests, and documenting every keyword and concept. This is the initial design phase where we should get a sense of what the language will look like. AI is a great tool and should be unresolved for code generation, testing and documentation
In progressTesting & dogfooding
We test, take in feedback, and dogfood the language until we're happy. This should be the first reasonably stable version. Ther if this is done correctly, ther SHOULD be some rethinking, changing of ideas etc. If not.. it's not done good enough. AI is still a great tool for finding issues, and even more testing.
UpcomingFinalize first compiler version in Go
First iteration of the compiler will be written in Go. AI may be used for coding, testig and for documentation
UpcomingBootstrapping
Full rewrite of the compiler in Sec. No AI automation. This must be a process where automation is paused, just to get a sense of the language. AI is still fine for testing and documentation and bug finding.
UpcomingIterative releases
Stdlib expansion, tooling, performance work, and community feedback cycles. Breaking changes are expected but documented.
UpcomingFirst public release
Stable language semantics, complete stdlib, and tooling. No breaking changes without a deprecation cycle.
UpcomingExplore
The documentation is organised into sections.
